It is listed in alphabetical order by the country's English short name as used by the ISO 3166/MA.

The ISO 3166 standard (first edition: 1974), published by the ISO, consists of the following 3 parts:
The ISO 3166-1 standard (first edition: 1997) defines codes for names of countries, dependent territories & special areas of geographical interest. Official name is ‘Codes for the representation of names of countries & their subdivisions – Part 1: Country codes’.
The ISO 3166-2 standard (first edition: 1998) defines codes for identifying the principal subdivisions (e.g., provinces or states) of all countries coded in ISO 3166-1. Official name is ‘Codes for the representation of names of countries & their subdivisions – Part 2: Country subdivision codes’.
The ISO 3166-3 standard (first edition: 1999) defines codes for listing country names which have been deleted from ISO 3166-1. Official name is ‘Codes for the representation of names of countries & their subdivisions – Part 3: Codes for formerly used names of countries’.
